Did you know that since mid-August 2019, gunfire has erupted more than 20 times at or near school sporting events around the country?
Did you know that since 2013, at least 19 people have been killed and more than 100 wounded in shootings with some connection to school sporting events?
Did you know that in 2019 alone, there was a shooting at a school event at a rate of about one per week?
Yet, unlike school-day shootings, those occurring at after school events have largely gone unnoticed. Why?
We need meaningful action to stop gun violence on all fronts. As a nation, we cannot continue to ignore gun violence of any kind. Even if you are a 2nd Amendment advocate or on the fence about constitutional rights, please ask yourself this question: "Should we protect our guns or our children?"
